The headline differences beyond the numbers:
- Connectivity: the G30 is Bluetooth-only unless you add a GCAST for WiFi — the G40 and G70v2 have WiFi built in from the start.
- Chiller: optional add-on for the G30, but included on both the G40 and G70v2 (a bigger unit on the G70v2).
- Fittings: the G30 uses threaded recirculation fittings, while the G40 and G70v2 use push-fit.
- Hop filtering: the G30 has an optional bottom filter plate accessory; the G40 and G70v2 both come with a 2-stage hop filter as standard.
- Warranty: all three carry a 3-year warranty, so that's not a differentiator when choosing between them.
In short: the G30 is the compact, entry-level system best suited to smaller batches and Bluetooth-based brewing; the G40 steps up to bigger batches with built-in WiFi and more included gear; and the G70v2 is the commercial-grade option for serious batch sizes and grain bills.
