If grains enter the mill gap in a certain orientation, the grain may get jammed while the idler roller remains stationary despite the motor and the drive roller still rotating freely.

If this happens while the mill is still on:

1. Adjust the mill gap to the largest setting (10).
2. Reduce your motor speed setting to 2 or 3 and let the mill continue to run for a short period of time. This will allow it to remove any grains stuck between the rollers.
3. Once the mill starts to crush the grain normally again, change the mill gap and motor speed back to your preferred settings.

If this doesn’t work, you will need to empty the grain out of the mill and restart it. To do this, please follow the steps below:

1. Turn off the mill and unplug it from the wall. 
2. Invert the mill and tip out as much of the remaining grain in the grain hopper into a container.
3. Remove the grain hopper and with the mill inverted give it a shake to try and remove any grains stuck between the rollers.
4. Replace the grain hopper and change the mill gap to the largest gap setting.
5. Reduce your motor speed to 2 or 3.
6. Turn the mill back on for a short period of time to allow the grain to pass through the rollers. 
7. Change the mill gap and motor speed back to your preferred settings.
8. Top up your grain hopper and the mill should start to crush the grain normally again.

Note: To reduce the chances of grain getting stuck between the rollers, fill the grain hopper prior to turning on the mill.
