If your fermentation device (such as a Tilt Hydrometer, Brewbrain Float, PLAATO Airlock or iSpindel) isn't logging data in the Grainfather App, work through the checklist below.
In most cases, the issue is not with the Grainfather App itself. The app receives fermentation data from the device's own platform or service, so it's important to first check that your device is successfully sending data.
1. Check that your device is logging data
The first step is to confirm that your fermentation device is successfully recording data in its own app or web portal.
For example:
- Tilt → Tilt app or TiltPi
- Brewbrain Float → Brewbrain platform
- PLAATO → PLAATO app
- iSpindel → Your chosen logging platform
If no data is being recorded there, the issue is likely with the device or its configuration rather than the Grainfather App.
2. Confirm the integration is configured correctly
Check that your fermentation device is linked to your Grainfather account.
Depending on the device, this may include:
- Logging into your Grainfather account.
- Entering the correct webhook or data logging URL.
- Authorising the Grainfather integration.
- Selecting the correct brew session.
3. Allow time for synchronisation
Fermentation data isn't always displayed instantly.
Depending on the device, updates may only be sent at set intervals, so allow a little time for new readings to appear.
4. Refresh the Grainfather App
Try:
- Deleting and reinstalling the app.
- Ensuring you're using the latest version of the Grainfather App.
